John Jerry Rawlings Reported Dead at age 73

Ghana’s former president John Jerry Rawlings is reported dead at the age of 73. Mr Rawlings was born on June 22, 1947, he died Thursday morning November 12, 2020 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) in Accra, the cause of his death has not yet been disclosed. Sources confirm that he fell ill after his mother’s burial.

His mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui died in September 2020 at age 101 and was buried on October 24, 2020, the last time that Mr Rawlings was seen in public.

Jerry John Rawlings was a Ghanaian military officer and politician who led the country from 1981 to 2001 and also for a brief period in 1979. He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana.
